Well here’s a turn up for the books. Following Facebook’s attack on the photo sharing market Google has purchased one of the big photo plugin companies, Nik Software – the makers of Color Efex, HDR Efex, Silver Efex, among others – all very well respected software plugins.

Not sure what the plans are, presumably the existing products will remain and Google are really after Snapseed – Nik’s answer to Instagram. Interesting times ahead. Must keep an eye on this one.
