Well here’s something I never expected to happen. This morning Canon announced a new arrival to it’s DSLR line. 70D? 7D MkII? nope, it’s a 60Da, a variation of the 60D customised for astrophotography!
Some of you may remember the well thought of (and ferociously expensive) 20Da, launched in 2005 – a similar modification to the then popular semi-pro 20D body. It offered improved IR and Hydrogen-alpha sensitivity, and even live-view focussing thanks to a semi-transmissive mirror — a first in the DSLR world at that time.
